Set an inspection routine

Review the facade after major weather events and schedule a detailed inspection at least once a year. Look for glass damage, loose panels, failed sealant, corrosion, staining, water marks, blocked drainage, and unusual movement around joints.

Clean with the right method

Use cleaning materials compatible with glass coatings, aluminium finishes, gaskets, and sealants. Harsh chemicals or rough tools can damage surfaces and reduce the life of the facade system.

Do not ignore sealant and drainage

  • Cracked sealant can allow water entry and dust collection.
  • Blocked drainage can push water into areas the system was not designed to handle.
  • Loose gaskets can create noise, leakage, and glass movement.

Keep records

Maintain photos, inspection notes, repair dates, product details, and contractor records. Documentation helps diagnose repeat issues and supports safer long-term maintenance planning.

Safety reminder: High-level facade work needs trained teams, proper access equipment, and a site-specific safety plan.
